Welcome to Preserve the Prairie! I am a rising sophomore at Reedy High School in Frisco, Texas and I’ve always had a love for nature. My inspiration for this initiative came from a family trip where I was captivated by the beauty of the Blackland Prairie. Learning that less than 1% of it remains, I felt compelled to raise awareness and educate others about its importance. Driven by my passion for nature and environmental stewardship, I took the initiative to create this platform to educate, inspire, and mobilize others to join in the conservation efforts. With the support of my dedicated club members and the valuable partnership with the esteemed Blackland Prairie Research Center (BPRC), we are committed to making a difference. In my free time, I enjoy dancing (Kuchipudi), playing the cello, and baking.

Hi! My name is Shifa and I’m an incoming sophomore at Reedy High School in Frisco, Texas. I am passionate about raising awareness which is why I joined this initiative. With the help of the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center, I hope that we are able to do adequate job at raising awareness for such an important cause. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, painting, playing chess, taking walks around my neighborhood, and spending time with my friends and family!
